The City of Helsinki commissioned a small terminology project from the Finnish Terminology Centre TSK in the autumn of 2017. The terminology contains 13 concepts and one concept diagram.

The terminology focuses on the basic concepts of land use planning. They needed commonly agreed definitions for information systems used in local detailed planning and for interoperability of the systems. The work group that compiled the terminology hopes that terminology work would continue and that it would be expanded to land use planning and built environment.
