YHTI 2 terminology project was initiated in January 2011 by Valvira (National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health), Tukes (Finnish Safety and Chemical Agency) and the Finnish Terminology Centre TSK. The purpose of the project is to further extend YHTI 1 vocabulary (Vocabulary of the Register of the Objects of Control of Environmental Health Care – Objects of Control), which supports developing of a data system for the control of environmental health care and was published in 2009.
YHTI 1 vocabulary covers the actions, actors and places of action relevant to the control of environmental health care, while in YHTI 2 project the vocabulary will be extended by adding concepts related to inspecting, sampling and control measures as well as realization and reporting of control plans. YHTI 2 project is also connected to earlier terminology projects KUTI 1 and KUTI 2A, which were related to developing of the data system for food control. The Food Control Vocabulary was published a result of these two projects.
All in all YHTI 2 vocabulary will contain 100-150 concepts related to the control of environmental health, including the 57 concepts of YHTI 1. The vocabulary will contain terms and definitions in Finnish and equivalents in Swedish and English. The terminology project is expected to be finished by the end of 2011.
