Terminology project on government grant activities to continue until end of 2020

In autumn 2020, the Finnish Terminology Centre will continue the terminology work, commissioned by the CSC – IT Center for Science Ltd., with the aim of drawing up descriptions for the key concepts related to government grant activities and activities supported by government grants. The work is carried out in order to support the development and digitalisation of government grant activities.

The Vocabulary of Information Management in Social Sector – updates and development of maintenance

This summer the Finnish Terminology Centre started a project to update some concept descriptions of client documents defined in the Vocabulary of Information Management in Social Sector, and to develop the maintenance model of the vocabulary and its technical solutions. The project is commissioned by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

Terminology for employment service statistics

The Finnish Terminology Centre TSK has started a terminology project commissioned by the Development and Administration centre for ELY Centres and TE Offices, KEHA centre. The aim of the project is to define about 80 concepts on employment services used in the KEHA centre’s data platform solution. The terms and concept descriptions are given in Finnish.

TEPA Term Banks new address is termipankki.fi

The Finnish Terminology Centre TSK’s TEPA Term Bank has a new web address https://termipankki.fi, and the site now uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Changing of the address does not affect the functionality of the website, and users are automatically redirected from the old address to the new site. However, users are recommended to update their bookmarks and links to the new address. Terminology Centre is happy to help with TEPA-related questions at tsk@tsk.fi.

Government subsidy terminology project continues during spring 2020

At the initiative of CSC (IT Centre for Science), the Finnish Terminology Centre TSK will continue the terminology work on providing descriptions for central concepts related to government subsidies during spring 2020. The terminology work aims to support a project with the objective of developing and digitising activities related to government subsidies. Project Director Tuula Lybeck sheds light on the goals and history of the project in her column (available in Finnish).

Terminology work on TE-digi project continues

In 2017, the Finnish Terminology Centre carried out terminology work for KEHA-Centre’s (Development and Administrative Services Centre for public employment services) TE-digi project (project which aims to develop a national digital “meeting place” for the supply and demand for labour). In August 2019, this work was continued with a special focus on concepts related to customership. The work will result in a terminology in which terms, definitions and notes are given in Finnish at this point.
