The National Institute for Health and Welfare has commissoned terminology work from the Finnish Terminology Centre TSK to support the preparation of the classification of social welfare services. Because the classification is made for the first time in Finland, it is important to recognise and define the central concepts and give them term recommendations.

The classification of social welfare services is a part of the Development Project for ICT in Social Welfare. More information in www.tikesos.fi (in Finnish).

The project started in March 2009 and will be finished in the end of the year.
